Found in 2009, Real Music specializes in vocal training for children and teenagers. It also offers supplementary courses in songwriting, pop piano, guitar, recording and production in order to provide for a holistic music experience. In 2020, Real Rhythm was established to train students in dancing and performing skills to enhance the whole performance presentation.
At Real Music, students have numerous opportunities to participate in live performances, audio and video productions and engage in community events. Our goal is to help students increase their confidence and exposure through these performances, while cultivating their connection with the wider community. Organizations and venues with whom we worked in the past years include The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Whiskers N Paws, Pacific Place, The Landmark, Lee Tung Avenue, Central Market and K11 Musea.
Rachel Kar
Music Director, Founder
Real Music was founded by Rachel Kar, who has extensive experience as a professional singer, songwriter, lyricist, producer and music educator. Her music journey began at the age of five, when she first started classical piano training and thereafter, also took up the French horn and trumpet. Her passion and love for music continued throughout the teenage years spent at the Headington School Oxford, U.K and finally finished with a First Honor Degree in Music Industry from Northeastern University in Boston, U.S.A.
For the past 20 years, Rachel was a professional songwriter for several renown record labels: Universal Publishing, Warner Chappell Publishing, EEG Music Publishing and Song/ATV Publishing. She has also written scores for independent movies and multiple popular songs for artists in Hong Kong .
Rachel’s work with children began in 2009 when she started to train children to perform in singing competitions, auditions and participate in a vast array of public performances and productions. She also has extensive experience in coaching students and preparing them for their IB Music examinations, In recent years, Rachel has kept her focus in vocal production for children and develop their talents and personal characteristics. In this regard, she has trained students and produced recordings that have been released on music platforms such as Spotify and iTunes.
Daisy Ng
Vocal Trainer
Daisy began her performing career as a Christian pop singer in 2006, after graduating as a Psychology major at Langara College in Canada. After being involved in numerous productions as a soloist, Daisy decided to continue her passion in music and became a vocal teacher in Kreative Studio and Real Music Production since 2012.
Daisy holds a Trinity College London Vocal Grade 8 and has music teaching experience at Forest House Waldorf School. She is also a certified Play Therapist.
Gloria Tsang
Vocal Trainer
Gloria is a music educator, music therapist and educational psychologist. She has over 12 years of experience as a private piano tutor and children’s choir teacher at various schools and organizations. She is also a children music book writer and has published two books, “Children Music - Let’s Begin from Classical” and “Sing and Play for Fun Volume 2”.
Gloria received her Diploma in Voice at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) and Bachelor Music Degree in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her Master Degree of Science in Educational Psychology was obtained from Capella University in Minneapolis, U.S.A.
Adelaide Leung
Dance Director
Adelaide started to learn ballet at a young age. Upon achieving an Intermediate level at Royal Academy of Dance, she entered The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) majoring in Ballet followed by Musical Theatre. Her stage experiences span across a wide array of genre, including Classical Ballet, Broadway, Jazz, Tap Dancing and Pop.
Adelaide is a professional dancer for top artists in the music industry . Her extensive experience includes being an advertisement model as well as a choreographer for a variety of concerts and events. As a certified trainer of GYROTONIC®️ and GYROKINESIS®️ Methods, Adelaide understands anatomy and is sensitive to students’ physical abilities and limitations.
At Real Rhythm, Adelaide leads all aspects of dance including choreography, teaching and MV production. Her extensive experience has helped our students enjoy a comprehensive stage experience.
